According to 16th Circuit Solicitor Kevin Brackett, #York police detained a second 15-year-old child on Thursday in connection with a May 4 shooting that killed a North Carolina man.
According to Brackett, the juvenile apprehended on Thursday faces charges of #murder and ten counts of attempted murder.
On May 10, York police detained another 15-year-old man on accusations of murder and ten counts of attempted murder.
Officials have failed to comment on whether a crowd was shot upon, which resulted in the ten attempted murder charges, or anything else regarding the event and the accompanying charges.
Neither suspect has been named due to their age.
Jai'Shaun Young, 21, of Gastonia, #North Carolina, died after being shot on Galilean Road, south of downtown York. The #homicide is the first in the South Carolina city of around 9,000 residents since 2022.
Gastonia, located west of #Charlotte, is approximately 20 miles north of York.
The investigation is still underway after two arrests.
Brackett stated that prosecutors are still working with the York Police Department on the inquiry, but declined to provide any other information.
York police Lt. Kevin Hoffman confirmed the second arrest but declined to provide any information.
"The investigation remains active and ongoing," Hoffman told The Herald on Friday.
