Casper police say numerous people saw the deadly shooting of a Casper girl this week. According to the complaint, the woman went to Buckboard Park off Robertson Road just after midnight on Tuesday to confront her ex-boyfriend, Eavan Castaner, who had been harassing her via text messages.
Castaner, born in 2007, was accused on Wednesday with first-degree murder and misdemeanor stalking. Unless proven or pleaded guilty, he is deemed innocent.
Castaner's companion informed police that he and the victim had dated for a year and split up approximately 25 days before the shooting, and that he was unhappy. He claimed he tried several times to physically prevent Castaner from coming to the gathering and addressing the victim and those who attended her. He stated that he informed them that Castaner had a pistol before returning to his car.
